My Rates Mobile Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

The My Rates mobile offer is available to Eligible Virgin Media Employees based in the UK.

Eligible Virgin Media Employees are:

  • Permanent employees full or part time of Virgin Media and Liberty Global UK, and
  • Customer-facing employees full or part time of the following Virgin Media partners: Actavo, Avonline, Comex, EricssonTUPE, IBM,Kellys, Kuehne & Nagel, Liberty Global, MAP, McNicholas, Netcracker, North Midlands Contraction, Planners Stuart Green, Regenersis, Sitel UK, Smallworld, Teleperformance, TUPE VM to ISS, TUPE VM to NTT

Once you cease to be an Eligible Virgin Media Employee you will no longer be entitled to the My Rates discount. If you chose to leave your employment with Virgin Media then you can keep your My Rates discount for 6 months. If you are made redundant you can keep the My Rates discount for 12 months. After this time you will automatically be moved from My Rates to mates rates.

The Offer

Eligible Virgin Media Employees can receive:

  • A 50% discount on the total monthly cost of any Virgin Mobile SIM Only or 24-month Classic contract, or
  • 50% discount on the monthly airtime price on a 24 or 36 month Freestyle contract,
  • up to a maximum discount of £100 a month. Employees are eligible for one My Rates contract per employee.

On top of the 50% discount above, you will also receive 50% off out of allowance minutes, texts and data, and roaming charges. The discount will not apply to additional costs such as add-ons and paper billing. The discount can be applied whether you are an existing Virgin Mobile customer or a new one – new customers need to make their purchase and then register for the discount. Existing customers just need to register for the discount. Instructions on how to do so are on the My Rates site, at https://www.vmteamrates.com/MyRates/Account/Login. The discount takes some time to apply and it may be one or more billing cycles until it is applied on our systems. If you have paid full price on your bills after you have registered for the discount, simply contact the My Rates team via https://www.vmteamrates.com/MyRates/Help/Contact and they will add the discount for you manually. You will receive confirmation when your discount has been applied to your account and bills going forward. Bills incurred before you registered for the discount will be charged as normal.

Additional details: The standard terms and conditions for the relevant service apply in full, including credit checks prior to entering the contract and your 14 day Customer Satisfaction Guarantee.

My Rates discount will only be added if you remain within your agreed credit limit. Discount will not be added if you breach your monthly credit limit or fall into collections. You must ensure that your account is kept up to date and credit limits are adjusted to match you spend pattern.

If you are eligible to cancel your contract following the annual price rise, you will not be eligible for further My Rates contract until the original contract end date.

Virgin Media may withdraw the My Rates offers or policy at any time. If we do we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can.

Eligibility

Eligible Virgin Media Employees (defined below) may recommend [up to 50] family members, and/or friends who are 18 years of age or older and living in the UK (each a “Mate”), to receive Mates Rates discounts.

Eligible Virgin Media Employees are:

  • Permanent employees full or part time of Virgin Media and Liberty Global UK, and
  • Customer-facing employees full or part time of the following Virgin Media partners: Actavo, Avonline, Comex, EricssonTUPE, IBM,Kellys, Kuehne & Nagel, Liberty Global, MAP, McNicholas, Netcracker, North Midlands Contraction, Planners Stuart Green, Regenersis, Sitel UK, Smallworld, Teleperformance, TUPE VM to ISS, TUPE VM to NTT

Note for Employees:

Mates Rates must only be offered to your friends and family, i.e. people personally known to you. The only financial benefit to you connected with the Mates Rates scheme should be the discount received by your Mate. If you abuse the scheme by seeking to gain financially from offering Mates Rates to people you do not know personally, or if you offer or advertise the rates to wider groups of people or the public, this may constitute misconduct leading you to be subject to disciplinary action and all discounts may be withdrawn.

When choosing which friends to discuss the deal with, please ensure you are fully aware of the eligibility rules so you do not disappoint. The offer may be withdrawn or referrals refused if it is being abused or the rules are not adhered to.

The Offer
Mates can receive:

  • A 25% discount on the total monthly cost of any Virgin Mobile SIM Only or 24-month Classic contract; or
  • A 25% discount off the monthly cost of airtime for a 24 or 36-month Freestyle contract,
  • up to a maximum discount of £100 a month.

The discount will continue to apply for as long as the Mate remains a Virgin Media customer.

The discount will apply to the Mate’s monthly plan cost only – additional costs such as add-ons, paper billing, out of allowance minutes, texts and data, and roaming charges will not be discounted.

Claiming the Offer:

The discount can be applied whether the Mate is an existing Virgin Mobile customer or a new one – new customers need to make their purchase and then the referring Employee must register their details via the Mates Rates portal to apply the discount. For existing customers the Employee just needs to register their details via the Mates Rates portal, at https://www.vmteamrates.com/MyRates/Account/Login?ReturnUrl=%2fMyRates%2f The discount takes some time to apply and it may be one or more billing cycles until it is applied on our systems. This means that your mate might pay full price on their bills even after they have registered for the Mates Rates discount. They will receive confirmation showing the discount on the bill when the discount is applied to their bills going forward. Bills incurred before your mate registered for the discount will be charged as normal.
